10 Tips on How to Maintain Your Strip Lashes

Ever wonder what you can do to take care of your strip lashes? Here are 10 easy tips on how to care for your strip lashes to prolong its lash life.

USE TWEEZERS TO APPLY YOUR STRIP LASHES

If you are new to wearing strip lashes and find it difficult to apply with your hands, try using tweezers. Tweezers or lash applicators will be more precise and will be better for gripping the strip lashes.

DO NOT PULL FROM THE TIPS OF THE LASHES.

Do not pull from the tips of the lash as you will risk damaging the lashes or pulling any of the lashes off. Depending on your grip strength, you can bend the lashes or even cut the tips off the lashes.

PUT YOUR LASHES BACK IN THE BOX!

Putting it back into the lash box and on the lash tray will keep the strip lashes shape and away from any dirt and dust. Plus, if you forget to put them away, you won't scare yourself in the middle of the night thinking they're spiders!

REMOVE EXCESS ADHESIVE OFF THE LASH

Removing excess adhesive will make it easier for you to apply the lashes next time. With no buildup at the band, you’ll avoid clumps. By not removing any leftover adhesive, you can carry dirt, makeup, and oils back on to your eyes.

BUY QUALITY LASHES. BE MINDFUL OF WHAT MATERIAL YOUR LASHES ARE MADE OF.

Strip lashes are made out of different materials. Typically there are three: synthetic lashes, human hair lashes, and mink fur lashes. Synthetic lashes are created with man-made materials such as rubber and other recyclable materials. Synthetic lashes are generally the cheapest to obtain, but can be of low quality. Due to its nature, they can be shiny, heavy, and may not hold a curled natural lash look. There are however, higher grade synthetic lashes available that look more natural.

Strip lashes can also be made from human hair. These are typically the best ones you can find as they accurately mimic the look of your own lashes. These lashes are typically more expensive than other materials like synthetic, but are more comfortable, last longer and can blend in seamlessly with your own lashes. Human hair lashes can be used more than one time if stored properly in a cool, dry place.

The most expensive lash material you can buy are Mink Lashes. They are often made by hand, and with the fur from the tails on the wild animal Mink. When this animal is captured for its fur, they live in cramped, enclosed spaces. If you live a cruelty free lifestyle and stay away from animal products, this is not the lash style for you. In recent years, mink fur lashes have been under serious controversy, from both within the beauty and outside. However, those that do wear Mink lashes, love how comfortable they are, and how it gives the appearance of natural, feathery looking eyelashes.

It is recommended that you do your research before purchasing because there are a few companies who dedicate themselves to making sure their mink lashes are cruelty free.

Additionally, there are still some lashes that are made of horsehair. Horsehair can also be expensive due to their natural shape, they can also mimic the look for human hair eyelashes. These are worn from people that prefer the lightness and softness of the lash. Horsehair is a good alternative for those who seek a cruelty-free option. These hairs are collected from a horse’s tail, therefore not causing any harm or pain to the horse. Horse lashes often go through an extensive ultraviolet process to sterilize them so they are free from any microbes or contaminants.

At Posh Lash Pro, although our lashes are PBT, Polybutylene Terephthalate they are a high performance synthetic thermoplastic polymer, made with an exclusive biotechnology to mimic PBT. They are softer, more porous, and their retention is slightly better than synthetic lashes.

NEVER CURL YOUR STRIP LASHES!

It is not recommended to curl your strip lashes. This can ruin the natural curl of the falsies, or even pull out hairs from the lash, thus ruining the style of your strip lash. Instead, curl your own natural lashes first.

CLEAN AND COMB YOUR STRIP LASHES REGULARLY.

Similar to eyelash extensions, cleaning and combing your strip lashes regularly means your strip lash will stay looking new. With regular care, your lashes will keep their natural shape and will prolong the life of your lashes so that you can wear it at least 15 times.

USE MAKEUP REMOVER TO TAKE OFF YOUR STRIP LASHES

Posh Lash Pro recommends using a makeup remover, such as micellar water, to loosen the adhesive liner so you can easily remove the lashes without the risk of pulling out your own natural lashes. Make sure you remove the lashes from the outer corners, gently peeling away.
